Speaker 1:

Welcome to words that inspire with doctor Janice Monrose Modest, speaker, inspirational coach, and author of refocus 21, a twenty one day fasting journal.

Speaker 2:

Hello. Hello. And Shalom to all. Welcome. This is Doctor.

Speaker 2:

Janis Monrose Modeste, and I'm excited to, speak with you today. We are going to be be talking about the topic of don't lose your momentum. I'm excited about this because we've gone through the beginning of the year. We started with our fasting, twenty one day Daniel fast. And thanks to those who joined us.

Speaker 2:

We had some awesome revelation about the goals that god has for us for the rest of the year dealing with our relationships, our health, and our finances. But tonight, we want to talk about the next steps. So sometimes, we write down a goal and, then we just feel stuck. Right? And so today, I want to encourage you to keep your momentum going.

Speaker 2:

So here are some inspirational scriptures and some tips. Some practical things that you can do to ensure that you keep your momentum going. Now, why do you need to keep that momentum now that you've prayed, you've sought God? You know, what have you been praying for for a while? If you lose momentum, it only means that you're going to stay where you are longer.

Speaker 2:

It will take you a longer time to be able to enjoy the good things that God has for you. Now remember, the things God has for you, he's had it for you before even the foundations of the world. We know that he chose you and everything that's needed for you is already there. However, sometimes we veer off the path that he has for us and then we have to kinda refocus, get back our bearings, find out where we where we're supposed to be, and get back on the path that he has for us. So tonight serves as your inspiration, as an inspirational coach.

Speaker 2:

I'm just here to help you, to give you the courage to get back on. Now we all need courage because as we're going to be talking, from the point of, second chronicles chapter 20, we're going to be looking at an an example from scripture because we know that god never changes. The same god he was back then is the same god he is now. So what can we learn from them so that we don't lose our momentum? So we're looking at verses three.

Speaker 2:

So you can start there because it talks about when they came up against something. Something that was keeping them from their victory. They proclaimed the fast and they prayed and they sought god. So one thing I want you to know as we go through talking tonight, I want you to have something in mind. I want you to be specific about what it is that you're asking help for.

Speaker 2:

So sometimes we come to God and, we're so vague. We're not sure what it is that we need. But, that's one of the reasons we did the fast so we can get clarity and we can get insight so that we can have a clear vision about what god has for us. We know the scripture says that in Habakkuk that without a vision, the people perish. You need a vision.

Speaker 2:

Right? So write the vision. Make it plain so that you could run who reads it. Now if you don't write the vision, if you don't have a vision, you don't have anything to write. And if you don't have anything to write, you have no accountability.

Speaker 2:

You don't have that clear picture. So we have to trust the process. And even though you've been asking God for something all this time, trust the process and go ahead and write it down and have that clear picture for what you need. And so the subtitle here for, verse five, it says, prayer for deliverance. And so what we see that was done here in verse 11, it says, behold, I see how they reward us.

Speaker 2:

They come to cast us out of thy possessions, which thou has given us to inherit. Now remember, John ten ten says, the thief comes to kill steal and destroy, but Yeshua, Jesus came that you might have and enjoy life, the NLT version. So the question is, what has the enemy stolen from you? We have to first know what we are seeking recompense for. Because right here it says, they came to cast us out of our possession.

Speaker 2:

So they knew what they had and they knew what the enemy had stolen or wanted to to steal. So we know the enemy wants to steal your joy, your peace, your relationships. He don't want you in healthy relationships. He want you fighting. He want you to be divisive.

Speaker 2:

He wants drama to stay in your life. And so sometimes the enemy steals our peace through those areas. Sometimes he steals our peace of mind through finances. Right? He wants to keep you worried.

Speaker 2:

He wants to keep you stressed. So you have to know exactly what it is that you have lost. Some of us may have lost time. We lost time because we lost focus, and we were chasing things, that just kinda took us away from our god ordained destiny. And so today, I just want to encourage you to have a clear picture of what you're trying to re possess.

Speaker 2:

Right? Because you were on the path, but we're not quite there. Even if we're there, sometimes we see. We can see it. We get tasted.

Speaker 2:

And, sometimes we just need a little bit of a little bit more belief, a little bit more courage to to possess it. So I'm here today to, we know what god word does. It says god's word is alive. It's breathing. And, so I'm going to just we're gonna take the word.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna hear the word, and we're gonna apply it to our lives so that we can receive what god has for us to receive today. And so when we look at verses 12, it says, we don't know what to do, but our eyes are upon you. That is true humility. True humility is knowing that, you know what? I have a God who even though I may not know what to do, my eyes are on him because he will show me what I need to do.

Speaker 2:

And so today, my prayer for you is that your eyes will be opened and your eyes will be locked on God so that he will tell you what to do. And I know the scripture, some of us had heard it, quite a bit. Verse 17, it says, God himself, Jehovah, is in all caps. L o r d in all caps. So we know that means it was in our in the original text, it had his his name.

Speaker 2:

And so it says, he said, you shall not need to fight in this battle. Set yourself. Stand he still and see the salvation of the lord with you. But when you read the stand he still, you see that they have still in, italics. That means it was not in the original text.

Speaker 2:

So sometimes when we say stand he still, it gives us a wrong picture of what is to come next. Because, when god says to stand he still, he did not mean don't move. He meant to stand meaning to, I won't tell you what it is. Let me keep reading and you will see exactly what we're talking about. Because the next sentence, it says, fair not, be not dismayed.

Speaker 2:

Tomorrow, go out against them for the lord will be with you. That answers the explanation why he didn't initially put still in there because right after he says to stand, it says to go out against them. So that shows us that god wants you to stand, but stand in what? He's clear about how he wants you to stand. What does he mean by stand?

Speaker 2:

Because we know that he didn't mean to don't move because he says tomorrow go out. So he when he says stand, what did he mean? In verse 20, he says, believe in the lord, Jehovah your god, so shall he be established. Believe his prophets and so shall he prosper. So how does God want you to stand?

Speaker 2:

He wants you to stand believing. He wants you to be firm in your belief and stand. Don't waiver. And how do we, how else do we know that? We look at verses 15.

Speaker 2:

He says, god said, god himself told them after they prayed and they asked for their eyes to be open so they can, you know, they brought their petition. They knew what they were asking god for. God says, do not be afraid nor dismayed. So dismayed is another word for discouraged. So god is telling them, calm down.

Speaker 2:

You coming to me all panicky? He's like, calm down. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed because of this great multitude. Because a lot of times, our problems in our mind seem so great.

Speaker 2:

And so God is not telling you that it's not great. What he's telling you is don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed. Don't be discouraged because of this great multitude. Here's why.

Speaker 2:

He says the battle is not yours, but god's. So right then and there, he is setting us straight. That is how you stand. You stand in confidence. You stand in boldness.

Speaker 2:

The The scripture says the righteous are as bold as a lion. I love that that, scripture. The righteous are as bold as a lion. Why? Because we know that the battle is not ours.

Speaker 2:

It's God. But remember, you can't say the battle is not yours, it's God's if you did not give it to God. The reason God was able to tell them this is because we read in verse three and four that they proclaim the fast and they ask God for help. You cannot be in a situation and say God's got me if you did not ask him for help. It says ask and you shall receive.

Speaker 2:

Seek and you shall find. Knock on the door shall be open. And those who ask will receive. So doesn't matter what you're going through. Remember, he says, if you believe his prophets, you shall prosper.

Speaker 2:

So even if it didn't happen to you before, if you believe that I'm speaking god's word, prophesying in terms of saying what god said. So I'm saying what god says to you and you're hearing it. And if you believe it, you shall prosper, which means, whatever you're believing for, you will receive. That's what it means to prosper because prosper means in the thing that you're looking for. So what were they looking for?

Speaker 2:

They were looking for, for for deliverance from someone who was trying to take something that was theirs. And so they knew that it was more than they could handle and they they call for help. So don't ever think that, oh, I called for help before and God didn't show up. Well, you know what? It says, believe in Jehovah your God, so shall he be established.

Speaker 2:

Believe in his prophets and so shall he prosper. And we know that once one or two agree it is established and I'm agreeing with you that what you believe in you've been believe in god for, it is happening. You are prospering. You are successful in that endeavor. Now that you've sought, you've asked, and now it's time for you to receive.

Speaker 2:

So I want you to stand in that, with that mindset. Stand in that authority and believe that you have it. And they didn't just say have it. It says, so shall it be established, which means you're going to establish whether it's that business. You're gonna establish that ministry.

Speaker 2:

You can reestablish that relationship if that's what god is asking you to do. He may be asking you to move on or not. So you gotta you gotta listen. Because remember, what it says, stand still and see the salvation. They had to actually listen to what god says that he need to go.

Speaker 2:

Because remember, it says in verse, what does it say? Let's see. It told them exactly where to go. It told them that in the morning, verse 20, they went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa. And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, hear me, oh, Judah, and then he inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Speaker 2:

So we see here that he knew exactly where to go because God told him what they had to do. So when we talk about, not losing momentum, when you believe in God for something, you have to strategically move. You have to check-in with him, see what he is requiring of you, and then get ready to move. Don't just say, oh, I'm believing God. I'm waiting for God.

Speaker 2:

But then you're not listening for directions. So you have to listen for directions. Sometimes what he wants you to do is change your speech because we know the scripture says that you shall have what you say. So we need to start changing what you're saying because your tongue is a creative force. So if you're believing for financial breakthrough, you can't be saying I'm broke.

Speaker 2:

You can't be saying I can't see a way out. You have to be saying, you know what? I believe that I'm walking towards, you know, my financial freedom. I'm believing that God is going to give me witty inventions. I'm believing that God is has already prepared a path for me, and I believe I'm walking in it.

Speaker 2:

And then you'll be able to tell God that I'm listening. I'm listening. Where do you want me to go today? And that will allow God. That would open up for God to to show you and to reveal to you this is the way walking it.

Speaker 2:

Because we know the scripture that says, this is the way you will hear a voice saying this is the way walking it. So believe to hear that voice. But you can't hear that voice if you're in chaos because we know that we always talk about the still small voice. And so God is not going to yell at you. He's a gentleman.

Speaker 2:

The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. And so you're gonna have to be listening. And so if your life is, chaotic right now, you need to bring it in order with the sound of your voice and asking God how do you restructure and realign yourself with his word with what he has for you. Okay? So, the path is ahead.

Speaker 2:

You may have, you know, strayed left or right. We all have strayed. None of us have stayed, you know, directly on the path the whole time. So listen to everyone who's hearing this. But we're all in different places and different stages.

Speaker 2:

So that's why we we come to him individually, seeking to find out where, you know, we may have strayed and how do we stay on point and stay on purpose and keep our momentum. That's the key. I want you to keep that momentum. Keep that same energy that, you know, you had in January. You keep that same energy and when distraction comes or or chaos comes around you, you keep your eyes on god.

Speaker 2:

That's what it said. Right? It says, for our eyes are on you. May that be, your declaration. You wake up every morning and you tell the lord, my eyes are on you.

Speaker 2:

And once you say that, that's first, 12 from second chronicles 20. I want you to write that down because I want you to see that is what God's word says, not me speaking, but God is speaking. And this is how they got the victory and this is how we too will receive the victory. Our eyes are on God. And so God reminded them, you do not need to fight, but you do need to stand and see the salvation of the Lord with you.

Speaker 2:

If you if you're in chaos, you can't even stand. You can't even see. Right? So he wants you to stand and see. He don't want you to be wavering back and forth.

Speaker 2:

Stand stand still. And see the salvation. Okay. So the last point, right before we I leave you, I wanna leave you with one more point. And, that point is to expect abundance because that's that is just how god works.

Speaker 2:

So it says here, that verse 21, and when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers that they should praise the beauty of God's holiness. So they were so confident that what that as they had approached God that he would, give them what they were praying for, that they started to rejoice. They started to be grateful. The whole attitude change. So they went from being fearful and discourage to rejoicing.

Speaker 2:

That is the because they believed because the verse before said, God said, hey, believe me. Believe my prophets. You shall prosper. And what did they do? They started rejoicing.

Speaker 2:

So wherever you find yourself today, I want you to rejoice because I want you to, believe that indeed your eyes are being open. Indeed, you are you are walking into the path, into the things that God has already in store for you. He he doesn't have to go make it. Is there for you already? You just need to see where you need to go get it.

Speaker 2:

And so you start praising, you start rejoicing, you start being grateful. Everyday, you find something that you're grateful for so that you can stand in the posture, in the right heart posture, in a posture of belief, in a posture of expectations. Okay? So once it started rejoicing, we know the expectation shifted Right right then and right there once they went from being fearful, to to praising just like that, the expectation shifted. And so what's the end result?

Speaker 2:

It says, when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches and the destruction of every single, enemy that was in front of them. I love it. So it says I like how verse 22 said, the lord, Jehovah, set ambushment against the children of Ammon, Moab, and everybody else who was against them. So who set the ambushment? God did.

Speaker 2:

So who is going to set up God don't want you to try to set up anybody. He don't want you going around hating people. He don't want you he don't need that. He just need for you to believe. He needs for you to listen so he could tell you where to strategize, where to stand.

Speaker 2:

And then he's going to make sure that nobody can say you did anything. So he also gonna make sure he gets all the glory too. Right? And so it says that while they were standing I'm sorry. While they were singing and praising, the lord set ambushments against them, which which means their enemies.

Speaker 2:

And he let them destroy each other. So that's how God kept his children drama free, stress free. He let the enemies turn on each other and let his children just keep singing and keep praising while the enemy is stressing and fighting and turning against each other. So that's why it's important to trust the process. Trust God.

Speaker 2:

Keep the momentum going. So even though they weren't fighting, they were singing. That's still moving. You're praising. You're giving thanks.

Speaker 2:

You are doing your your daily affirmations. That's momentum. That's still momentum. So, don't think that if you you get up and you know, you don't have to necessarily do an activity and make up something to do to keep momentum because thanksgiving thanks and praising God while you're listening and you're asking him for directions, you're in a good place. You're on the path, to success.

Speaker 2:

And so we see in at the right time, everything's about timing. We see that that set an ambushment against the the children and they destroyed each other. So the best part, woo hoo. Verse 25. It says, they found abundance of riches, precious jewels, and everything.

Speaker 2:

So all the things that the enemy had stolen, God give them in abundance. So not only did the people not take this stuff, not only did God give them this stuff back, they got abundantly more than, you know, they had even bargained for. Because who who was going to even think about a full ambushment? So don't limit God in your situation. You you can't contain him.

Speaker 2:

You don't know the the vastness of what he can do. He only ask you to stand and see his salvation. You stand and you see. Alright? And so that's my encouragement, for you today.

Speaker 2:

And, just like the children of God who prayed and sought him, it says, there was so much stuff that they got that it took them three days just to gather them. So my prayer for you is that once God blesses you, that it would take you days to even be able to, you know, to gather or to contain the amount of blessings that he has for you. You may come to him for, for healing and you'd be surprised that instead of just healing you from diabetes, he just decide to heal you from from, you know, financial stress. He decided to heal you, from, you know, from different things because of the word Shalom. Right?

Speaker 2:

In Jeremiah twenty nine eleven, it says, I come to give you, peace and peace there is Shalom. I know the plans I have for you is plans for Shalom, plans for peace. And we know that peace is wholeness, is, prosperity. It means safety, security. It means that you're healthy.

Speaker 2:

It means that you're whole in all areas. Ain't that something? God is a god of wholeness. He wants you to be whole. A lot of times when Yeshua healed people, he said be made whole.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes he just healed them and other times he told them to be whole. And so my prayer for you today is that you be made whole and that whatever the enemy have used to distract you in the past, that now you will have eyes to see. Right now, you will be, stand in belief. You will stand encouraged. Right?

Speaker 2:

And so those are two great ingredients for you to be able to, walk into and not just walk into it, possess it. Possess it. Enjoy it. Okay? Gather the spoil.

Speaker 2:

Alright. So, how did the story end? It ended in '29. It says, the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries. When they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.

Speaker 2:

So may it be with you. Let people hear about people when God has done, he wants to give you so much abundance that people will hear about it. That is how God gets his glory. So believe for it. Because remember, when he does it, he gets the glory.

Speaker 2:

So it's not just, you know, for you, you can you you can believe that God wants to use you to help him. He wants your light to shine. He wants you to bring him glory. He wants to use you. The only problem is he needs your belief.

Speaker 2:

He needs your faith. He He needs you to come to him. He needs you to be specific and everything else that I've, spoken here today. And if you forget anything here or you need to re re rewatch anything, this will be uploaded to my podcast as well. It's called, Coffee and Inspiration with doctor Janice Modest.

Speaker 2:

You can find it on, whether it's Amazon or Apple, wherever you listen to your podcast, I'm there. So just type in my name and you will be able to listen to this as often as you need to to remind you to keep your momentum going until you get to that place of abundance. And when God is ready for your next goal, he was gonna get you there to the next goal. But for right now, this goal, this thing that you have in your mind, let's go get that victory. Let's let's go start collecting.

Speaker 2:

Let's get that abundance so that at the end, who got the glory? God did. It says the fear, the reverence of God came upon all those enemies, all those naysayers, all those haters around you. When they see what God has done for you, God is going to get the glory. Alright.

Speaker 2:

I'll see you again next time.
